Hailing from the beaches of the Carolinas, TreeHouse! is a Reggae Rock band with psychedelic jams. Founded in 2010 by Jeremy Anderson, aka Positive J, TreeHouse! have contributed heavily to the American Reggae genre, jam scene, festival circuits, healing communities, and beyond. Had a great time hanging with the guys from TreeHouse! There was such great comradery between the members of the band and a lot of laughs were had while these guys were in the shop.

Steve Ewing, lead singer of the band The Urge, stopped by the Barbershop for an interview with Mat of Highly Recommended and AJ of Hair by AJ in May of 2025. Although he wasn't in need of any barber services this time around, there was plenty to talk about. We talked about the history of The Urge, St. Louis, Steve's business: Steve's Hot Dogs, Solo Projects, Bodybuilding, and more. Huge shout out to Steve for making it by the barbershop on such short notice!

Matt Roads is a founding member of Tropidelic, a band from Cleveland, Ohio. They infuse multiple genres into a style that's a blend of reggae rock, hip-hop and high energy funk. While in Kansas City, Matt took the time out of his busy schedule to do an interview for Highly Recommended. We talked about how things are going on this most recent tour, new music, why the Midwest is the best, Everwild Music Festival, and much more. Shoutout to Matt and all of Tropidelic!

James Begin is a rapper, musician, and songwriter from Cleveland, OH. Through his work with Tropidelic and his own solo endeavors, James and his music have healed hearts and struck awe from coast to coast. As a performer, James is unmatched in dedication and energy; he brings an undeniable fire to every stage he sets foot on. The Palmer Squares are a Chicago-based hip hop duo composed of Acumental (Ac) and Term (Term K). While in Kansas City, The Palmers Squares stopped by the barbershop for a haircut, beard trim, and interview with Hair by AJ and Highly Recommended. We talked about how they met, musical influences, bucket list items, a unique request to spread ashes at a show, and much more. What an honor to have The Palmer Squares in the shop.
